Data Use Policy

You may remove all the user data by deleting the app.

1. Data Collection and Usage

Our app, Septim, is a test application designed to interact with a private blockchain hosted on Kaleido. It allows users to create a local username and password on their Android device for in-app operations. Users may also import a private key and public key to interact with the blockchain for transactions.

  • Username and Password: The app allows users to locally create and store a username and password on the device. This data is stored securely and is not transmitted to any external servers.

  • Private/Public Keys: Users may import private and public keys to perform transactions on the private blockchain. These keys are intended for use on the private blockchain only.

  • DO NOT use your mainnet address or private key, even though this app does not perform any mainnet functions. You may remove any mistakenly input addresses by add or remove keys button on the main page, or by deleting the app.

2. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: All sensitive data, including usernames, passwords, private keys, and public keys, are stored locally on the user's device. We use Android's Keystore to securely store private keys and other sensitive information.

  • Encryption: Data such as private keys is stored in encrypted form to ensure the highest level of security. The app does not share or transmit these keys to any external parties.

3. No Collection of Personal or Financial Data

The app does not collect or request any personal, financial, or personally identifiable information (PII) from users. All user data remains on the device, and no external servers are used for data storage or processing.

4. Blockchain Transactions

Users can undertake transactions on a private blockchain using their imported private keys. These transactions occur within the private blockchain hosted by Kaleido and do not involve any public blockchain interactions. The keys used within the app should not be reused on any public blockchain for security purposes.

5. User Consent

Before importing any private/public key pairs, users are informed that these keys should not be the ones used on the main Ethereum or any public blockchain. Users are solely responsible for the security and use of their keys within the private blockchain environment.

6. No Data Sharing

The app does not share user data with third parties, including the user's username, password, private keys, or any other data created or imported within the app.

7. Data Deletion

Users may delete their account and all associated data (including usernames, passwords, and imported keys) by uninstalling the app from their device. No further action is required as no data is transmitted outside of the user's device.

8. Compliance with Google Play Policies

This app complies with all Google Play user data and privacy policies. We prioritize the privacy and security of our users and adhere to best practices for handling sensitive data.
